G’day, so we had a fabulous turnout today.

Unfortunately two parents didn’t sign out their child from Nippers & I spent 20 mins trying to confirm they were safe. We had another designated parent leave an 8 year old at the Merewether Baths without telling the child’s parent. The parent was at the Club actively looking for their child for 20-30 mins. The child was found but VERY distressed. It was a very stressful time. She was still wearing her nippers cap and singlet. Thanks to all those who rallied quickly to find her. And well done to our lost Nipper who went straight to surf life saver in duty at the baths!

So I missed one hour with my family while making sure our Nippers were safe.

We are a community based club. We look after all our Nippers and if in doubt bring a lost Nipper to the club and tell a surf Life Saver or any Age manager or someone at the BBQ. We are all observing to safeguard all Nippers.
